4/28/04 - Stern Pinball has just released the new Bump N'
Win system, a new type of tournament featured in its Tournament
Pinball System (ToPS), which allows casual players to compete
with skilled players for a percentage of the prize pool. In Bump N' Win,
skilled players compete for the highest score. Casual players who beat the
high score achieve second place, 'bumping' everyone down one position, and
knocking the last place player off the leader board. ToPS
Bump N' Win
is a flexible, in-house, operator or home-user adjustable tournament system
where the pinball machine’s computer does all the work and computations for
the operator and location. ToPS Bump N' Win
uses no phone lines,
no servers, and gives full location privacy. There are three types of
tournament modes. The first is progressive cash prizes, where the payout
grows with each play. The second is fixed cash prizes, where the total
payout amount is pre-set by the game operator. The third is non-cash prizes,
where points, tickets, merchandise, or other items of the game operator’s or
home user's choosing are awarded. |
