Race TV - Race TV is a brand new racing game from Sega which runs on
the Lindbergh Hardware System,
and allows from 1 - 4 players to race head to head at
the same time, across five different courses or "stages". Stages included in the
initial version are Sunshine Coast, Jake's World, Sunshine World, Slip
Circuit and a "Hidden" Stage.
The Sega Race TV video game comes with nine licensed race cars for players to
choose from, including racers from Ford, Chevrolet, Mazda, Chrysler and even
Mitsubishi, along with nine "special" racing characters available as well as one
special "extra timed" release.
Sega Race TV features both single player race mode,
as well as the ability to race up to four other opponents.
In single race mode, the player races through three laps
of the selected "stage", with the player advancing to the following stage if
they finish within the stipulated ranking.
When single play is cleared, players are given a secret password that opens up
the race car "customization" area, where players customize their vehicle with
very
cool car options, including a new paint job by choosing
one of nine different car colors, with over 648 options available in total to
players !
And returning players can even continue racing with
their previously customized cars, just by entering the password that was given
to them !
The great looking cabinet has a built-in "boost" button beneath the gear
shift, with players collecting boosts along the track
to fill the boost gauge. When the boost is pressed, the
car accelerates at a tremendous speed, with sudden bursts of speed crucial in
defeating your opponents.
There are also free boost periods, where players can
use boost as much as they like for a limited time !
