08/04/11 - BMI Worldwide, Inc. announced today the start of a limited global trial to accept a new
digital payment method known as Bitcoin, or "BTC". Bitcoin is a type of global "virtual currency" which enables users to make online payments for products and services at a very low cost to the merchant.
The Bitcoin trial, which will start on August 8, 2011, will be limited to a maximum of 100 BTC per order (1.00 BTC = $10.71 USD as of 8/4/11), with any balance to be paid using traditional payment methods, such as credit cards and bank wire transfers. The Bitcoin trial is expected to run for at least 90 days.
