Become a member
of the local BBB ( Better Business Bureau )
Provide the
BBB with information regarding company ownership,
management structure, street address and telephone number at which
they do business, which is verified by the local BBB in a visit to the
company's premises;
Be in business a
minimum of one year
Join the National
BBB as a member and become approved
for the BBB Online
Reliability Program
Then, after being accepted, all members must :
Respond promptly
to all consumer complaints against them;
Agree to dispute
resolution, at the consumer's request, for all
unresolved disputes involving consumer products or services.
Have a
satisfactory complaint handling record with the BBB;
Agree to abide by
the BBB "Code of Online Business Practices",
and to cooperate with any request for modification of a
website to
bring it into accordance with the Code requirements;
Agree to
participate in the BBB's web advertising self-regulation
program, and correct or withdraw online advertising when challenged by
the BBB and found not to be substantiated or not in compliance
with the
BBB's children's advertising guidelines.
